One For The Team

Win the game. Lose yourself.

When trans lacrosse prodigy Nico transfers to a wealthy high school to save his Ivy League scholarship, he must navigate privilege, prejudice, and pressure—or risk losing everything he’s fought for, including himself. The show’s tone lives somewhere between iconic high school films like The Breakfast Club and Booksmart and cherished coming-of-age TV series like My So-Called Life and On My Block. It has a fast-paced humor with a touch of teenage drama.

About the Project:

One For The Team proudly employed 90% trans, queer, female, and POC in front of and behind the camera. The pilot was created by Kyle Puccia and Darryl Stephens , directed by Rain Valdez, and executive produced by Silas Howard and Liesl Wilke. It is also produced by Lit House Ink and Rainbow Entertainment. The writers, Puccia and Stephens, have aspired to create a character for young trans kids today. The director, Rain Valdez, says the show is not just about identity but about claiming your own sense of belonging no matter the odds.

FAMILY JEWEL’S

In this Tyler Perry send-up, a mysterious drifter charms his way into the tight-knit staff of a struggling small-town gay bar as its newest go-go dancer. But the secret relationships he’s come to uncover may not only upend the family business, but ignite a political firestorm as well. The series follows the drifter, TJ, and features characters like the bartender Dominique, the bar manager Lamont, and mayoral candidate Candace Jerrison.

COMMUNITY THEATRE

In this half-hour comedy, a displaced theater troupe holds auditions in South Central L.A. Local best friends Demetrius and Serenity slay their sixteen bars, only to end up in the middle of a rivalry between the white megalomaniac director and the Black sitcom actor who owns the theater. When the director pitches a culturally clueless production of “For Colored Girls,” the owner must step in to save his teetering legacy and the soul of the community theater. This project is best described as Waiting for Guffman meets South Side.

WATERTOWN

In a gritty Fargo-esque dark comedy, broke and jaded Luke returns to his small town to help his mom clear out his recently deceased step-dad’s junk and stumbles upon $750K in cash. Hiding the stash from his pill-popping mother while falling for his alcoholic step-cousin Paulie, Luke’s world really starts to unravel when local mafia thugs show up looking for their money.
